On one hand, I was upset because he was expecting me to drop everything and take him to get his driving permit. That didn't happen and wasn't going to happen. He received clothes as gifts because he needed them not because he wanted them. He wanted a new PSP with games or the IPhone so he could play with all the applications.
And, we could have gotten those things for him, however, would he have really appreciated it?
Now for the blessed part. My children are both healthy now. They are involved in extra curricular activities at school that is helping them grow and become better people. And, I remember each time that I give my charity gift to St. Jude, that it could be one of my children that the money is helping.
So, the moral of the story is...Mom's know best and clothes were what my son needed. PSP's and IPhone's can be purchased from money made by working (which my children both get each weekend from helping us with our business). Granted it takes discipline and patience to save up enough money for a PSP or an IPhone, but he will appreciate them so much more than if it was just "Handed" to him as a gift.
Go have a blessed day and remember "No matter how much your children act up, they are still a Blessing from God" and you are lucky to have them.
